Scorsese directs his muse (DiCaprio) in a predictable, but captivating period thriller. Do it again!
Postscript 02.22.10 ~ Shutter Island is an atmospheric psycho-thriller in which Martin Scorsese shows his hand WAY too early in the movie. Sadly, the suspense is killed because of predictability. But Leonardo DiCaprio makes the film worth watching as does the overall morose look of the film. The premise centers around psychotropic (hallucinogenic) drugs and German experiments in WW2. Watchable, yes. Rentable, totally. It’s a total Scorsese film—love ‘em—but it’s only getting 3 stars instead of 4 because the plot is too easily deduced.

Glad to hear about Shutter Island. May wait for DVD on that one then. I liked Cloudy with a Chance OK. For some reason, I didn’t enjoy it as much as most other kids movies, which is weird because I really like Anna Faris (sp?). Maybe I was in a poor mood that day.
I saw Law Abiding Citizen this weekend. I’d give it 3 of 5. Maybe 3 ½.
I got 9 this weekend, but I probably won’t watch it until next weekend. There’s not much of note in my queue right now. Not that it matters since they’re not sending me anything new anymore.
What’s up with the movie coming out this weekend The Crazies? Are they zombies, or just crazy people?
